Melati is a New York based womenswear label creating timeless pieces with an effortless point of view. Inspired by vintage silhouettes, each collection is thoughtfully crafted in Jakarta.

Puspa Malam
Night flowers. Melati — jasmine — holds its scent until after dark, and so does everything it is named beside. Five pieces, cut in Jakarta, for a New York autumn.
How to wear it
Two tops. One skirt.
Either top sits over the Cempaka — ivory on ivory, or black lace against the sweep. Choose a set, then turn her around.

The moon orchid. Indonesia names it puspa pesona — the flower of charm. Silver blue satin, cut on the bias, with eleven centimetres of lace at the centre front — in ivory, or in white — and gold-tone hardware. French seams throughout. Made to order.

The jasmine at home opens after dark. You never see it happen — you walk out in the morning and the whole courtyard smells of it.
These are cut in Jakarta, by people who have known that scent their whole lives, for a city eight thousand miles away.
Vintage shapes, because the good ones were already found. Nothing here is new. It is only ours now.
